We celebrated Road Safety Week from 20th to 26th May 2024. The theme for this year is “Be a road safety hero.” It’s a community event promoted by Brake but run by individuals, organizations, and communities. Our children participated by organizing road safety activities at the Kindy. Children made collage of traffic light and learn about lights in creative ways. Kaiako talked about the colors of lights while showing them the colors. Then we talked about the rules in simple language which is easy for children to understand. Also demonstrated the traffic rules by singing songs with them. Children learnt about the traffic environment and a range of safe practices that they can use when using the road as a pedestrian. kaiako discussed the safety guidelines about putting seat belts when travelling in a car.
